opener was a bust
Temp was almost 100 again today, and didn't get out because my car doesn't have air.... Well.... It will once my SOB mechanic calls me in the next hour or so..... Not that it matters its so hot I doubt anything has started migrating yet....
Unsolicited tips of the day: If you live in the heat wave belt and want to get doves, and don't have access to a field of feed. Look for water that has exposed dirt banks with a gradual slope..... Such as mudd holes, puddles, and live stock watering holes. With this heat you can be sure of one thing... Doves will water several times a day.... Look for tall shade trees around above mentioned water source and you just might jump a tree full of roosting doves.

Opener was a bust
Our opener was even worse than a bust. We did not even get to go on opening day. Still trying to get out from under the aftermath of Irene. Finally got our power back on Thursday and all clean up finished on Saturday. Took a much needed break on Monday and hunted from 2:00 until 5:30. All my sunflowers and corn are flat on the ground but we had a few birds that were looking for something to eat.
