Shooting Rats at night
I decided to make what I call a "Kill Box" so that I wasnt shooting holes in my fence, or shining a bright flashlight around my back yard... last thing I need is the cops showing up because someone thought I was a prowler.
This is what I came up with. The lights were purchased from a dollar store. They are solar charged LED lights, which give off plenty of light to show you a full target (not just glowing eyes) against the white background. The section in the middle is for bait.. I find that junk food works the best. I just leave the kill box in the same place day and night so the mice and rats get use to it.

You clearly are a different bird! Most people want mice/rats out of their yard and away from their house. You on the other hand set up feeding stations in your yard for the critters as if they were deer. I know the wife is proud of you for bringing the neighbors rats over to eat with you. On the other hand, thinking out of the box is what we all need to do for some clean fun. Hold on, hunting season starts soon and you can move out of your yard into nature back yard.

Re: Shooting Rats at night
Thanks Gary hahaha.... Here are the particulars behind my creation.... Behind the house is an undeveloped 20 acre lot. Our wooden fence is double sided in between the houses....this acts as a hotel.... Just out of frame to the right are tomato plants.... The mice and rats are drawn into the yard by the rippening fruit.... All I'm doing is providing a lit shooting platform and a reason to stop .
