Deer Season in NC
Our gun season opened Sat. Oct. 15 and the local clubs have been doing well with some nice bucks taken. I was lucky enough to take a decent buck off my farm last Thursday morning. It is not a monster by any means but with our bucks averaging not even 1.5 years old for harvest this one somehow made the 2.5 year mark. We have a liberal 6 deer limit and they can be any sex. If someone kills a 10 point buck here it is consider a monster, they are rare. Happy Hunting!

Deer Season in NC
Check this guy out. Picture taken last Friday night on a local farm in my neighboring county. He must be lost because we just do not get them like this very often. He is at least a 6 yr. old. A prize for sure for someone.

Deer Season in NC
This past weekend our town held a fund raiser for a local fire department by hosting a deer tournament. They have several catagories, from open Adult to Youth and they pay $1,000 for the heaviest buck and heaviest doe each. They weigh them without innards. Out of 400 deer weighed in for the two day event I managed to finish 5th place in the doe division. Wouldn't you know it that they only paid 4 places. Luck I do not have! Does anyone know how much corn I had to feed these deer to win nothing? Advice, stick to crow hunting, shells are not cheap but cheaper than corn.
